In 2012, a group of colorful monsters emerged in one of Leslie’s art journals. Colorful, hopeful and loud, these monsters persisted in making themselves heard by showing up again and again in multiple art journals.

Leslie’s monsters first appeared in her 2012 Art Journal.
Later in 2012, “Monsters and Mechanicals” Art Journal also featured them.
In 2013, the first draft of Spots and What Nots was created. But color and text bleed issues and work/life stopped the book’s progression.
Ready, set, action…
Driven by curiosity, Leslie experimented with stop motion photography to bring her monster friends alive and help tell their story.
She even commissioned a song from The Wiggly Tendrils, topping off the stop motion film with a bang!
